Ultrotec Return & Refund Policy
Last updated: 25 September 2026
At Ultrotec, we want you to be satisfied with your purchase. If you are not completely happy with your order, our 30-Day Returns Policy allows you to request a return, subject to the conditions below.
This policy is intended to comply with the applicable consumer protection laws of South Africa, including the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 (CPA) and the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002 (ECTA).
1. 30-Day Change-of-Mind Returns
You may request to return an unwanted product within 30 days of receiving your order.
For a change-of-mind return, the product must:
-
Be unused or in a condition suitable for resale;
-
Be returned with its original packaging, accessories and included components where reasonably possible;
-
Not have been damaged through misuse, negligence or accidental damage; and
-
Be accompanied by your order number or proof of purchase.
Customers are responsible for the reasonable direct cost of returning an unwanted product.
Once the returned product has been received and inspected, Ultrotec will process an approved refund to the original payment method.
2. Products That Are Defective or Faulty
Your statutory rights are not limited to the 30-day return period.
Under section 56 of the Consumer Protection Act, qualifying goods carry an implied warranty of quality for six months from delivery. Where goods fail to satisfy the applicable quality requirements, the consumer may return the goods and, subject to the CPA, may choose an applicable remedy such as a repair, replacement or refund.
If your Ultrotec product develops a defect, please contact us as soon as reasonably possible and provide:
-
Your order number;
-
A description of the problem; and
-
Photographs or a video demonstrating the issue, where reasonably necessary.
If the product is confirmed to be defective and the return falls within the applicable statutory protection, Ultrotec will arrange the appropriate remedy in accordance with South African law.
3. Damaged or Incorrect Items
If you receive:
-
A damaged product;
-
The wrong product; or
-
A product that is materially different from what was advertised,
please contact Ultrotec as soon as reasonably possible after delivery.
We may request photographs or other information to help us investigate the issue.
Where the problem is attributable to Ultrotec or the delivery process, we will arrange an appropriate remedy in accordance with applicable law.
4. Online Purchases and Cooling-Off Rights
Because Ultrotec operates online, certain purchases may be subject to the cooling-off provisions of the ECTA.
Where section 44 of the ECTA applies, a consumer may cancel a qualifying transaction without reason and without penalty within seven days after receipt of the goods. The consumer may be responsible for the direct cost of returning the goods.
These statutory rights apply independently of Ultrotec's voluntary 30-day return policy.
5. Refunds
Approved refunds will generally be processed to the original payment method used for the purchase.
Refund processing times may depend on the payment provider or financial institution.
Where a refund is required by applicable South African law, Ultrotec will process the refund within the timeframe required by that law.
6. Exclusions
The 30-day change-of-mind return policy does not apply where a product has been damaged as a result of:
-
Misuse or abuse;
-
Accidental damage;
-
Negligence;
-
Unauthorised modification or repair;
-
Use contrary to the supplied instructions; or
-
Normal wear and tear.
These exclusions do not remove or limit any consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded under South African legislation.

8. Your Legal Rights
Nothing in this policy is intended to exclude, restrict or waive any right or remedy that a consumer has under applicable South African law.
Where a provision of this policy conflicts with a mandatory provision of South African consumer law, the applicable law will prevail.
For further information, consumers can refer to the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 and the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002.
Ultrotec reserves the right to update this policy from time to time, provided that any update does not unlawfully limit a consumer's statutory rights.
